ASTRYD FARAH DE MICHELE

Astryd Farah deMichele spends her time
between the United States and Egypt,
performing and teaching Oriental dance
professionally. She has a home base and
instructional school in Oregon, though
she's been spending up to six months a year
in Cairo, where she performs in five star
hotels, weddings, events and studies with
the finest Oriental dance choreographers.
When in the United States, Astryd Farah
is adjunct faculty for the University of
Oregon, instructing Middle Eastern dance with an emphasis on Egyptian styling. In addition, she holds independent classes for the Astryd Farah deMichele School of Middle Eastern dance, instructing all levels of dancers, and coaches students privately. She teaches precise, defined technique as the vehicle to express the emotional aspects of the music, and her warmth and clarity in teaching has inspired hundreds
of students.
